Getting started

Apoo requires macOS 26 or later. After opening it, click the rhythm-bars icon in the menu bar. It has no Dock icon or regular app window.
Play audio in an app, then turn on Sound in Apoo. Allow macOS system-audio access when prompted.
Use the slider to adjust an app’s volume, click its icon to mute, or choose an output beside its name.

No sound or permission problems

Turn Sound off in Apoo to release its audio routes. Open Sound Settings → Audio Permissions from the Apoo panel, allow access in macOS Privacy & Security, then quit and reopen Apoo.

macOS may call the permission “Screen & System Audio Recording” or “System Audio Recording Only”. Apoo uses system audio for live volume and routing controls; it does not record your screen or save audio.

An app is missing

Start playing audio in that app. Apoo lists apps that macOS reports as audio output clients. A detected app can remain listed when playback pauses, until it quits. Protected media and apps with exclusive device access may not support interception.

Outputs and saved settings

The main Output list changes your Mac’s default audio output. The output beside an app changes that app’s route. System Default follows macOS. When an output disconnects, reconnect it or select another output.

Sound Settings includes launch at login, reset and Quit. Reset clears saved per-app volume, mute and output preferences. Turning Sound off or quitting releases Apoo’s audio routes. A system output you selected remains the Mac’s default.

Purchases and updates

Downloads, purchases, redownloads and refunds are managed by Apple through the Mac App Store. For billing or refund requests, use Apple’s purchase support.
